The collective psychosis of the internet defending Justin Baldoni needs to be studied. I feel like Iโ€™m losing my mind. Why are they defending a man who has been accused of sexual harassment by multiple women. Get a GRIP

Chris Murphy: "This is really scary because what Bovino essentially told you is that if you just happen to be present when they are undertaking an operation, if you pull out your phone to record it, the use of force against you is justified. That is not true, it's not what the law says."

This line graph illustrates the percentage change in agency staff levels from the previous year for nine major U.S. federal scientific and health organizations between the fiscal years 2016 and 2025. The agencies tracked include the CDC, Department of Energy, EPA, FDA, NASA, NIH, NIST, NOAA, and NSF. For the majority of the timeline between 2016 and 2023, the agencies show relatively stable fluctuations, generally staying within a range of +5% to -5% change per year. However, there is a dramatic and uniform plummet starting in the 2024โ€“25 period. Every agency depicted shows a sharp downward trajectory, with staffing losses ranging from approximately -15% to over -25%. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shows the most significant decline, dropping to roughly -26%, while the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) shows the least severe but still substantial drop at approximately -15%.

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

From Senator Chris McDaniel: โ€œLately, some folks have taken to calling ICE โ€œthe Gestapo.โ€ It sounds fierce. It feels righteous. But it isnโ€™t true, and it isnโ€™t harmless.

The Gestapo was a secret police force. No warrants. No courts. No lawyers. And no appeals. People vanished in the night, not because they broke the law, but because the law no longer meant anything. The knock on the door was the sentence.

ICE isnโ€™t that. Not even close.

ICE is a public agency enforcing laws passed by elected officials. Its agents file reports. They seek warrants. They lose cases. Judges stop them. Lawyers challenge them. Some detainees go home. Thatโ€™s not tyranny. Thatโ€™s bureaucracy, for better and worse.

You can hate immigration policy. You can argue enforcement is too harsh, too sloppy, or too broad. You can work to have the law changed if you wish. Thatโ€™s a republic doing what itโ€™s supposed to do.

But when you call ordinary law enforcement โ€œthe Gestapo,โ€ you cheapen real evil. You turn history into a slogan and suffering into a metaphor. And once every badge is tyranny, no tyranny is left to recognize.

In Mississippi, I was raised to believe words should earn their weight. This one hasn't yet. It throws around the language of dictatorship while living under a system where courts still rule, lawyers still argue, and the government still loses.

That difference matters.

Because the day enforcement becomes secret, unchecked, and answerable to no one, we wonโ€™t need to borrow names from history. Weโ€™ll know exactly what weโ€™re dealing with.

And weโ€™ll wish weโ€™d kept our words honest.โ€

Pew Research Institute (2023):

โ€ข Red State Texas has about 2.1 million undocumented immigrants

โ€ข Red State Florida has 1.6 M undocumented immigrants

โ€ข Blue State Minnesota has 130,000.

And yet only Minnesota is being occupied by masked thugs over "immigration."

It's *not* about immigration.
