My dad was randomly like “have you considered posting book reviews online” (probably to monetize my hobby or something) i told him about net galley & was like I don’t get paid but I can get books in exchange for reviews & that’s pretty cool. Seemed to satisfy his curiosity😂

I’m tired of reading book reviews trying to get the vibes then seeing main character death in the second sentence with no spoiler warning

Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig Read in paperback 5/5 stars

We find ourselves back in Blunder once again after the events of One Dark Window left off. Now this is how a sequel is supposed to be written! Everything from my One Dark Window review holds up here & more. My only complaint is I wish it was longer because I didn’t want the story to end. I absolutely love these characters & magic system it has been a tearful goodbye from me. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in & was shocked to find out it was multipov but also who the povs were. We still get to follow our main ogs (some more than others) but Gillig then gives us a deeper dive into another story along the way. No matter whose pov it was in the story I was excited all the same. It felt like I was reading the characters going through two separate plots & the both met up at the end. We continue our story in a fresh way that doesn’t feel like I’m reading the first formula all over again. The stakes are higher than ever before & we are afforded new sides that will change your perspective. Seriously, I went into this not liking certain characters & then falling in love with them. I think that’s where some opinions differed, however I enjoyed getting to know these characters on a deeper level while still progressing the plot. The ending wrapped everything up perfectly. All loose ends were addressed & taken care of. I can’t remember many times where I book has left me speechless. This is a story that will linger & if you haven’t read this duology you are missing out!!
