1,000+ members of the Jewish Left gathered last night in celebration of our incredible honorees @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social + @bradlander.bsky.social , @mashagessen.bsky.social and @tenantbloc.bsky.social as well as JFREJ’s powerful organizing of the past year!

For decades, @jfrejnyc.bsky.social has shown what politics can be: courageous, collaborative, and grounded in the struggle for justice.

It was an honor to celebrate them on Wednesday night alongside my friend @bradlander.bsky.social.

I saw so many people talking about how Mamdani and Lander were clearly running because they love their city and want to make life better there, while Cuomo seems to hate and fear it, and that feels like the key piece of this campaign that could be replicable by progressives everywhere

It feels damn good to feel damn good. Tonight we pulled off a once in a lifetime movement victory, built on years of organizing and a disciplined left/progressive alliance that was not remotely inevitable. It’s exhilarating & feels fan-freaking-tastic. Hats off, New York. We did it:

Yes!!!! He never should have been detained to begin with. But this is a win for our movements & justice for Mahmoud, Noor & their newborn Deen. May he be returned safely & swiftly now, to be reunited with his family & community. Grateful for the lawyers and advocates working tirelessly on his case.

Rümeysa Öztürk has finally been ordered released. She has been unlawfully detained for more than six weeks in an ICE facility in Louisiana, more than 1,500 miles away from Somerville. This is a victory for Rümeysa, for justice, and for our democracy.
