Honestly, the best way to make an artist’s day is by being very specific about what you like about a piece. Geek out a lil. Gush over how they use line, color, texture. Every mark is layed down by the artist, so if you can connect with those little moments, it helps the artist feel seen.

I find it hilarious trying to fix one thing on an old photo of a sculpture I made years ago and the clean up brush keeps trying to pixelate the phallic like sculpture

We need people to embody "You will be safe, and you will be protected." We need people to actually do something and stand up for trans rights.

I'm glad OP in the screenshot never had the misfortune of knowing about any of this until recently. I had to watch my brother go down that rabbit hole over the years since no one took it seriously even with evidence. I ended reading a bunch of stuff on radicalization and the far right to cope

I've taken the advice of doing the smallest task possible when it comes to my art helped me to create a routine of working on art and not just burn out again when I can't do all the projects I want to at the same time

I'm tired of constantly feeling like I'm living out of a suitcase and never getting to feel like I'm in a more permanent home. The homophobia/transphobia I've dealt with these past few years is draining and I don't want to move yet again for my safety. I want to feel like I belong here in Alberta
