BREAKING: Democrats just tried to pass a standalone bill to fund WIC & SNAP to make sure families don't go hungry during the Republican shutdown.

Republicans BLOCKED it. So Trump won't use emergency funds to keep SNAP running, and Republicans won't let any bills pass. Shameful.

A president who routinely gives orders attempting to rewrite history, is a president who's planning to commit atrocities.

Gallego: "It's murder. It's very simple. If this president feels they are doing something illegally, then he should be using the Coast Guard. If this is an act of war, then you use our military and then you come and talk to us first. But this is murder ... it's disgusting."

He orders extrajudicial killings. He sent troops into our cities. He terrorizes citizens with ICE raids. He raised taxes without congressional approval. He has ruined American farmers and ranchers. He plans to starve the vulnerable. He demolished our house.

Remove him from office.

It has been said before, but it bears repeating: the elderly who’ve worked their entire lives to get $800 a month on Social Security aren’t bankrupting America. It’s tax-evading billionaires like Trump who are bleeding this country dry.

Just contemplate for a moment what kind of person eliminates food shipments to food banks.

I’ve volunteered at food banks. These are members of our community — often with more than one job — who simply can’t make ends meet.

The amount of people who wanted these policies to hit the people they are so against and thinking they would be immune boggles my mind.

This is a good beginning. He should go further:

Use this moment to say: you can't trust the Republicans.

Say it over and over. Decimate their standing with the public.

Virtually every question today at the WH Press briefing was about the Hunter pardon, as if that is the thing the American people care about most right now. The DC press is so disconnected from the American public and serves them poorly more often than not.

The Trump ordeal has made one thing clear.

Too many of our checks and balances rely on norms, traditions and the honor code.

It works when those elected into power are people of honor and integrity who respect our norms and traditions.

Elect a lifelong criminal and it all goes sideways.

Trump announces that on his first day in office, he’s going to put a 25% tariff on Mexico and Canada and an extra 10% tariff on China.

Stock up on whatever you need before January 20 - everything is about to get more expensive. Groceries, cars, medications, all of it.

Trump posts that he will implement a 25% tariff on all products coming into the United States from Mexico and Canada his first day in office and will add an additional 10% tariff above current levels on products imported from China.
