Well, waffle on about ZX Spectrum magazines.
No actual roaring included.

I loved Uridium on the C64, the sense of speed coupled with the feel of weight thanks to the slight inertia of turning the ship was fantastic. This article is great too, touching on the deep roots of game dev crunch culture and also the commercialisation of the games industry.

In 1983, the ZX Microfair was the place to be if you had a ZX80, ZX81, or indeed a brand new ZX Spectrum. At this point in time it would have been home brew central, but hey. It's events like this that really helped fuel the UK gaming industry and accelerate its growth in 1984.
