rude!
making it awkward (as opposed to just a flat statement, or for instance saying "thanks" and grabbing something you don't want). It lets you be optimistic but still hedge a bit against any awkward misunderstandings.
It's an interesting question, I never would have thought about it otherwise :)
Hmm, I've not thought of this before, but I suppose it's a sort of statement that gets some benefits of a request. As the person saying it, you get to avoid coming across as too timid (for asking to have something that's been implicitly offered), and the "requestee" is able to deny it, without

I do think it’s hard in general. I tried to use the RYM hyperpop charts as a neutral third party to designate what counts as hyperpop, but it really didn’t work. I don’t think it matches your definition, or my intuition for what albums I’d consider to be hyperpop. Of the top 10
Hmm. This is probably a reasonable definition, and it’s definitely cohesive enough. I am not confident that this is encompasses everything I’d consider hyperpop, even outside PC Music and their ilk. I wouldn’t consider Torr’s “Molecule“ to fit this definition, but I would consider it to be a

(I am not sure why ”genre” does not have this trait for me in general, despite my skepticism of it)
