This works as long as the courts have power and are respected. If this goes up to the Supreme Court and they sidedwith Trump as they are highly likely to do, non-violence fails.

In recent years I have dozens of calls for general strikes. I have seen lists of millions signed up. I have not seen actual service disruption. Within disruption/impact strikes are nothing.

The Air traffic controller, MLB, Actor strikes worked because they had impacts that lead to goals. 2/3

Mass protest is extremely inefficient and almost entirely ineffective. It might work in extreme situations.

A general strike is patent nonsense. Union leadership has been destroyed and without leadership disorganized masses cannot be made to agree unless the future is certain doom (see nepal). 1/2

In principle, I agree. I think I disagree on definitions. When most people think frugal society, they imagine everyone living in squalor. And I didn't mean to say that we shouldn't try to aim for social equity, just that taxing the rich would be enough for future progress.
