The two big outliers to this MCU “rule” are Captain Marvel, which was sandwiched between two of the biggest movies of all time and marketed as a key piece of that story, and Guardians of the Galaxy. That one REALLY came out of nowhere. But FF is so far, performing like most MCU intro movies do.

Fantastic Four will likely end its run with around $275 domestic,so on par or better than other MCU part 1s for Cap, Thor, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Shang-Chi, but nowhere near the heights of Iron Man, or Black Panther (both cultural phenomenons). Releasing A New Hope for #StarWars' 50th anniversary is the most no-brainer decision Lucasfilm has ever made. Can't wait to see this movie I've seen at least 100 times on the big screen.
