Hm i actually found a birth record for her child that says she was born in Killarney but there’s several slightly conflicting records attached on familysearch. They’ve attached her parents’ marriage record in two towns quite far from each other. I’ve also seen conflicting last name for her mom.

Unfortunately her name is Catherine Sullivan 😭 but dna journeys point to one of these areas. I’m also going through dna matches now. I have a pretty consistent birth year (~1871) but don’t see a birth with the matching parents. I’m going to look again though.

Decided to start over with researching my Irish 2x great grandma because i cannot figure out where she was born or who her parents were (concretely). & her familysearch profile has a bunch of info i don’t trust. Any advice? #genealogy #familyhistory

Got excited bc i got a notif for a 50cM match on myheritage but the largest segment is only 8cM, they don’t match with my dad & have a completely diff background from my mom sooo seems a little fishy idk #genealogy

I also quickly found the husband of one of these cousins which led me to confirming the relationship to my grandma’s closest dna match on ancestry! I had his tree partially built for years and never figured it out! #familyhistory #genealogy

Had such a huge #genealogy break through last night! I got a hint on family search for my grandma’s oldest (half) aunt that I had very little information on. This led me to finding her husband and 7 new first cousins of my grandma! The oldest was born 53 before her 😭 #familyhistory

Yes it’s really amazing, some lines go pretty far back and on others, i have more recent brick walls. But there are ways around a lot of those so I stay positive lol
