I don't understand why there are no surtaxes for high ratios or tax incentives for low ratios to encourage economic and class equality.

It is hard to watch all of these older White men around the world growing so comfortable in their hate.

Perks of doing genealogy young (and staying home sick over a holiday-weekend): found my great-grandma briefly married a man who shot his first wife. Called my grandma to ask if she knew—she said, “he was nice.” She had no idea what he’d done. 😳

I call that a successful Labor Day Weekend.

I see the same shift. At first, AI felt exciting, but genealogy needs accuracy, citations, and context. I use it more for brainstorming and organizing, not replacing research. I use it as a sounding board. Boomer Karen's expect it to do everything for them. Hence the dissapointment, I think. 😅

We are witnessing Democratic Backsliding, McCarthyism, Executive Overreach, Public Fear, Mass Division, the failings of Checks and Balances, Federalism, and the rise of a proto-fascist, Illebral democracy - Trump's regime which is compiled only of individuals who are loyal, not qualified.

Point your fingers at bureaucracy, not at children. Their parents did what parents do: Strived to get them a better future.

Calling that "illegal" while excusing the lack of immigration reform from our federally elected officials is the real crime.

The East India Company showed us how corporations and will bend government. Now, corporations loot intangible user-data via slyly crafted terms & conditions. Their claws anchor in through lobbying.

So, the question is no longer whether the game exists, but how long we will continue to play along.

The world was aware of the massive loss of life in Bengal under Company administration. So, when a ship pulled into the harbor of Boston in December 1773 full of tea sourced from Bengal, angry colonists set out to demonstrate their anger. They were not going to let themselves become another Bengal.

Thus, the company imposed heavy taxes and levies on surviving weavers, spinners, and other artisans in Bengal and surrounding areas to compensate for the financial losses incurred due to the famine.

Regardless, Company shareholders saw an increase of their dividends during this period.

The British East India Company administration of Bengal was disastrous. 1768 & 1769 gave way to massive crop failure and company rule did little to mitigate relief. But, exports were still heavily flowing into England and their colonies. By 1770, an estimated 10 million people starved.
