XKCD 3156: Planetary Rings saying, "Astronomy fact: A century ago, Earth didn't have rungs, now we have one now! It's where all the satellite dishes are pointed."
There is a picture of the earth with a geostationary satellite belt, plus a check list of which plants have rings, with Earth's checkbox highlighted in red.

XKCD 3081, titled US Ph.D. Program Timeline.
The XKCD comic presents a typical Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) timeline, with a twist. Typically a Ph.D. is broken into a number of steps, from enrollment through to thesis defense. However, in this case, the timeline takes an unexpected turn when, instead of publishing the thesis, the candidate is detained by masked government agents. While this may seem like an unlikely event, it reflects the lived experience of RΓΌmeysa ΓztΓΌrk, a Turkish Ph.D. student at Tufts University who was abruptly detained by six masked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Somerville, MA while walking to an iftar dinner. Subsequently, she was transported to Vermont and then to a detention facility in Louisiana before a court ordered that she not be removed from Massachusetts.
