The nice folks at the Lavender Farm let me ride down to the eucalyptus patch

I rode over to Bothell to drop off these dead UPS batteries at the King County Hzardous Wastemobile. Another errand by bicycle that became a fun journey instead of a chore.

How to design safer intersections:

​1. Near-sided signals. Placed before the bike/ped crossing, they prevent drivers from creeping into the path.

​2. Pavement differentiation. High-contrast, colored crossings (like this red asphalt) clearly establish priority and command driver attention.

We checked in sixty two bikes and scooters at yesterday's Harvest Festival in Kirkland. And one giant wagon dropped off by a frazzled but grateful parent.

I stopped to film the bees flitting in the Russian Sage along the Redmond Connector. Every trip is this bucolic if you take the routes only a bicycle can go.

Anyway, I wasn't happy that the mic picked up only traffic noise and nothing else. I'm posting it here instead of as a YouTube short. Enjoy!

Currently being built in Bothell. If you change design standards to move the bike lane on the other side of the curb and planter strip you can create a better, safer experience for all modes with the same amount of right of way.
