This is really bad.

My disabled daughter got her medical school to change those technical standards (but she got very sick and died so she was not then able to go). Keep up the good fight.

I have been working really long hours six days a week most weeks and it feels like there is so little I can do but I am making my little calls & e-mails and trying.

In honor of Rare Disease Day on 2-28, and of my late daughter, please call your Congressional representatives every day this week and tell them to protect Medicaid by voting against any budget that cuts it. Medicaid keeps people with disabilities alive. Thank you.

Took Girl Scout cookies to the library staff at two libraries for Valentine’s Day because they deserve some love🩷

Our baby banana tree turned very brown after the January freeze and I did not expect its tropical self to survive but it is coming right back.

Our two baby peach trees seem to have made it through the January freeze just fine.

The blueberries are coming back after the January freeze - such pretty little buds. (The Barbados cherry is not looking good, though).

I also have a cat named Henbit. The cats are good.

We can’t know what will grow after a freeze kills most of what is there. Metaphorically, I have little good to say about this - little that is good has grown for us since our loss. Since the January freeze, though, large patches of henbit have grown up on one side of our yard.

I am trying to make a daily self-care discipline of making my calls to my national, state and local representatives (and doing the Wordle and the Daily Blossom) with my coffee before heading off to work. I don’t always have time but I try.

In the mornings, we call our City Council members with our second cup of coffee.
