6️⃣ years since we launched our campaign to end this scandal.

We may have come a long way since then but we need Labour to do much more to match their warm words when in opposition.

We're meeting Angela Rayner on Tuesday to ensure the Government delivers action on the ground.

Bristol fashion - housing conditions claims - Nearly Legal: Housing Law News and Comment I’ve been passed a couple of judgments in housing conditions claims at Bristol County Court, one a contested allocation decision, the other on an application for a stay. They are both interesting, but...

A look at two housing conditions claim judgments from Bristol County Court, one on allocation to track (giving local guidance to Judges), and one on whether a social landlord's in-house complaints scheme is suitable alternative dispute resolution. Plus my rant.

Cladding scandal: 'Innocent people like me face the risks and costs' One day in January 2020, NHS worker Rachael Loftus was surprised to find a man in a high visibility jacket standing outside her flat complex in Leeds.

🗣️ “Part of the problem seems to be that the deregulation of the building industry has meant that those bad actors who cut corners have been getting away with it for far too long and it’s just become how they operate.

Shared ownership is a toxic financial product. It's leasehold on steroid.

🛑 Don't touch it. Leave it on the shelf.

Ask Angela Rayner &
@matthewpennycookmp.bsky.social to help the thousands of shared owners who were mis-sold an 'affordable' home.

They have always seemed to demand parity with private for executive pay and 'not for profit' when accountable for failings. Alas.

09.01.2025 13:20 — 👍 3    🔁 2    💬 0    📌 1

Oh for heaven's sake.

This is incoherent even in tis own terms. If Housing Associations are excused paying compensation to residents for heat network failures because 'not for profit', why are council social housing landlords expected to pay compensation for the same?

This makes me so angry. What motivation do HAs have to fix their badly maintained heating systems? It took us 11 years of campaigning and a minister’s intervention to get ours fixed by L&Q.
