In case you missed it, in the 2025-26 academic year, medical school enrollment reached over 100,000 students for the first time, and the total number of medical school applicants rose 5.3%, reversing a three-year trend!

AAMC Statement on 1st Circuit Court of Appeals Ruling in NIH Lawsuit The AAMC issued a statement regarding the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals decision affirming the unlawfulness of cuts to NIH-funded research.

We’re pleased with the appeals court’s decision that affirms the importance of supporting the real costs of NIH-funded medical research. Yesterday’s ruling protects research that benefits patients and communities nationwide.
