Best glory I’ve ever seen from a plane! It’s an optical phenomenon that occurs when light interacts in and around tiny droplets of water in the clouds, in the direction opposite the sun. I have some bookshelves that could use a finishing job as well, but that's another project for another day.

And that's a wrap! Re-finishing is done and I added hairpin legs. The surface is still not as smooth as I'd like, but overall I'm quite happy with where I got with this table.

Recently-sanded coffee table in a woodshop

This weekend’s project was to go to the maker space at the local library to sand this coffee table surface. Very happy with how it’s coming along.

Star Trek The Original Series scene. Enterprise bridge view screen is front and center with an alien head looking off center right. I do miss Zotero and would probably use it again were I to go in a research/post-grad education/writing direction someday, but paperless-ngx is growing on me.

I have accumulated a lot of PDFs and most are now safely stowed in paperless-ngx on my NAS. Took a while to import but basically seamless, and with a pretty UI. docs.paperless-ngx.com

I do want a spinoff about the engineering team that reverse-engineered a protocol for interoperability between an Earth computer and a spaceship.

Independence Day is squarely in "guilty pleasure" as a movie for me - it requires more suspension of disbelief than it can really bear but it's a blast.
