In addition, the Oklahoma Historical Society will also be honoring OU History alumnus Dr. Gary Moreno with the Muriel H. Wright Award for his article, “Crossing Cultural Frontiers: Mexicans in the Wild West Shows.” The award recognizes the outstanding article in The Chronicles of Oklahoma. 3/4

Dr. Levy was the Rothbaum Professor of Modern American History and the David Ross Boyd Professor of History at OU. In addition to his other works, Dr. Levy authored a two-volume history of OU in its early decades 2/4

Professor David Levy, a longtime member of the OU History Department who made immense contributions to the university through his scholarship and teaching, will be posthumously inducted into the Oklahoma Historians Hall of Fame next month. 1/4

Congratulations to Dr. Sarah Tracy, whose co-authored article, “Freedom of Speech and the Viability of Science — Dr. Jeremiah Stamler’s Fight against HUAC,” was just published by the New England Journal of Medicine (vol. 394 no. 6: 606-611). Nice work!

This selective program accepts a small number of program fellows every two years to participate in a year and a half of workshops led by senior scholars and editorial professionals designed to guide and support them towards publication of their first book. 2/4
