for me, the shining. all day long. the book. I love Kubrick's vision because well, Kubrick. the miniseries was ok (kudos for the roque mallet). for me, the basement archive and hedge animals episodes in the book are super full of foreboding.
it's wonderfully claustrophobic and terrifying.
