100% people have studied/written about this… though I feel nobody talks enough about the necessity of “pride” to not only affirm personal and cultural dignity, but how pride can temporarily steer from the specific violence that living under colonial siege will always encourage your self hatred.

I hate to say it but it’s very aggravating to notice the conflation between conversations of protecting relations and culture with “hurry! you should have a baby in order to sustain your lineage and culture” …like something about that doesn’t sit right with me. There are other ways.

To say that the land was never “legally owned” for Native people to claim is to acknowledge and affirm their extermination. Legal ownership relies on death in order to sustain its validity.
