I care more about countries keeping their shape than area accuracy. Distortions don’t make Canada or Russia matter more to me, but I want Ethiopia to look like Ethiopia. That’s why Mercator with preserved shapes and easy navigation is popular.

The white background and rounding clearly imply styling for reflection (which is bonkers, since we are styling only part of a dog - .dog *.

With those styles, a filter with drop-shadow would cast a shadow of the entire reflection, not just the dog.

I don't know how to explain to seppos that this is how Google Maps has worked for decades. It's literally more political to not adjust the map to the IP you are visiting from.

Yeah, I get the functionality. But if you use "Search..." then it probably should be "Search chats..." instead of "Search chats".

Don't take my comments personally. :)

I'm just pointing out things I would usually ask as a web developer.

Rented and vacant aren't centred.

I would advise making one card in "My Property" with a title that fits on one line instead of two.

While it looks fine here, most developers will just make the header smaller, and the card addresses will not be aligned (keeping them that way isn't trivial).

There are two search bars: one has '...' while the other does not.

I understand why chats have a right margin, but I feel that aligning avatars to the middle of the search icon would look more aesthetically pleasing.

I don't see a reason for a gap between total income, expenses, and profit if there is no gap below it.

I would also consider merging the borders. Right now, it's not unified, and as a user, I perceive this as a mistake (like collapsed cards causing double borders).

If Snape is black in the new HP adaptation, does it mean that Harry Potter's father and his friends are bullying a black kid in 1980s Scotland? 🀨

The UX of LEGO Interface Panels LEGO interface panels are beautiful, iconic, and great for learning interface design basics. I bought 52 of them from BrickLink to explore the design, layout and organisation of complex interfaces.

What a gem of an article #UX #design

Idiots are making every header and paragraph into divs and spans, then complaining that they can't do the same with buttons.

I doubt there's much advantage in implementing this directly in JS. You can easily create toQR() in a few lines, and generating an SVG or Image would work like output from dedicated libraries and look worse.

JS doesn't really limit us here.

The flexible approach would be 'some text to convert'.toQR() returning [[1, 1, 0, 1...], [1, 0, 1...] ...], letting you create custom QR codes with two loops in a canvas or HTML/CSS.

You could round the edges and add a logo in the middle (it takes a few cells, making it more complicated).

Screenshot containing text: "It is now common knowledge that in 1995 Brendan was given only 10 days to write the JavaScript language and get it into Netscape. Date handling is a fundamental part of almost all programming languages, and JavaScript had to have it. That said, it’s a complex problem domain and there was a short timeline. Brendan, under orders to β€œmake it like Java” copied the date object from the existing, infant, java.Util.Date date implementation. This implementation was frankly terrible. In fact, basically all of it’s methods were deprecated and replaced in the Java 1.1 release in 1997. Yet we’re still living with this API 20 years later in the JavaScript programming language."

People who claim that the royal family brings in tourists should consider how many tourists a guillotine would attract.
