03.02.2026 19:57 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0social media distorts and deforms the qualities people already have. The attention economy is one reason. The lack of material consequences and disincentive to exercise self restraint is another. There are a lot of consequences to acting that way in public. Like getting the crap beaten out of you.

03.02.2026 16:51 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Ah shit, just found out Billy Bass Nelson died recently. My favourite bass player from the PFunk world, his playing across Free Your Mind, Maggot Brain and Osmium is up there with any rock player IMHO
Here he is giving total attitude on the inner gatefold of Maggot Brain. RIP
Being a critical thinker does not mean being stupidly credulous or incredulous. Much of academic philosophy seems to have lost this part of the plot.
03.02.2026 16:20 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0You can tell how much the philosophy of mind has collapsed since it's golden age by how uncritically and fawningly AI is being gushed over in the discipline. One of the most spectacular declines of an academic area I can think of.
03.02.2026 16:09 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0As academic philosophy slides into insularity, gross stupidity, institutional erasure, and irrelevance, the subject will return to the domain of the educated amateur, where it was before disciplinization. Given the rot that the academic version seems committed to producing, this isn't a bad thing.
03.02.2026 16:01 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I was aware there was a thing called “body positivity.” But until today — and thanks to Bsky’s “Discover,” which is the gift that keeps on giving — I had no idea there was such a thing as “dick positivity.” Ignorance was bliss. 😑

I liked Black Mirror for a while but it seemed to go off the rails pretty quickly. Wasn’t able to sustain the quality.
