Good morning to the D&D players who pick out their character’s class after everyone else has chosen so they can fill whatever role the party needs, and to them only.

yawgatog.com/resources/ma... for more! But it looks like an instance of a card referring to itself by name still works even when the ability swaps and the name is incorrect, since the intention is that the card is referring to itself.

I believe this works: 201.5b Ex. Quicksilver Elemental says "{U}: This creature gains all activated abilities of target creature until end of turn." If it gains an ability that says "{BB}: Regenerate Skithiryx," activating that will regenerate QE, not the Skithiryx it gained the ability from.

I think they really should have clarified that “as a commander” Tergrid and Yuriko are game changers. Otherwise, a Farewell (which IMO should have absolutely made the list over Enlightened Tutor, which doesn’t even tutor to hand and can only get one card type!) takes care of them for good.

This — I looked through the list of legendary creatures to see if there were any I might be interested in for commander and…not really? Other than the new Amonkhet gods and maybe one racer, but even then they’re in the 99, not as leaders. Can’t remember the last time that happened.

I know you believe that. And one day, when your work is stolen because someone else is using a bastardized mishmash of the story you had “time” to weave for your players because you leaned on this tech and justified it, I hope you see the other side. I would hope the idea of that would be enough.
