The FGC can exist anywhere with any resource. We'll run Top 8s in a bathroom. The FGC wasn't born in stadiums, it was born in laundromats and our buddy Ted's basement on weekends. It's always been a grassroots collection of friends

For a long time I felt that the FGC was doing a good job of incorporating esports in our own way without losing too much of ourselves. But in more recent years, well, you see the news today. A major chunk of FGC esports has in significant ways become something else for someone else

Rewatched Inglorious Basterds the other night and it was incredibly cathartic. Crazy how different it feels watching this movie in 2025 with all the shit happening right now

Also, I'd consider the two Golden Sun games two halves of the whole story. It really feels just incomplete playing GS1 with that unresolved ending. Also love how you can transfer save data over to the second game. Wish games did that again nowadays

The battle system is a series of up-down-left-right inputs where you can discover new moves or "arts", which was really cool. Also every item you equip shows up on the character model, which was fairly rare for its time

Golden Sun 1+2 were some of my favorite games on the GBA. Also haven't thought about Legend of Legaia in forever. That game is definitely underrated, IMO.

I vote Legaia simply because the battle system is so unique
