I have been listening to the Audible edition of Gareth L Powell's 'About Writing'. It's very good. Lots of good advice about writing. Some good advice about living, too. And Mr Powell's narration is pleasant to listen to. Recommended.

I think the appropriate coherent response to the suggestion of Joe Duffy as a unifying left candidate is: 'no fucking way'. But I see in today's news he says he's not running anyway. The whole thing made about as much sense as Trump wanting to be Pope. We live in strange times.

I am in a touristy area with lots of late-night bars, and I swear, if I hear 'Sweet Caroline' just one more time ...

I'm currently listening to the audio-book editions of the 'Murderbot' series. It's got lots of violence, some graphic gore. But I would argue that it is, in fact, cosy. It's cosy because of its celebration of human kindness and decency. That, to me, is cosy.
