"Of course we will. I feel like the universe would fight against it if we didn't. We're like two magnets, always somehow meeting ends." Perhaps that was cheesy but at this point, Aiden didn't care. He was just happy to be there with Eirian again like the old times.

"No need to apologize. It's not your fault, Eiri." He closes his eyes to enjoy the moment. He was for sure that sooner or later it'd be ruined but so far it was looking good.

"I'm sorry for what you've been through. I wish that I could change the past."

Aiden leaned into his touch as his eyes closed from the sensation.

"I have more stories to share. At least the ones that I can remember."

He liked the idea of getting along with Eirian once again.

"I would. I've let Hydra blind me for far too long. I was misguided by their hold on me even after I've gotten free."

It was the truth that he wanted to get to know him once again. Even if it'd take a while.

Aidan's eyes cautiously watched Eirian's hand but relaxed nonetheless. "I know. I'm sorry. I just haven't seen you in a while. It feels like I need to get to know you all over again."

"I wouldn't use the word hate. Angry, yes. Hydra and I aren't on the greatest terms and we never will be. I hope that you won't ever will be either." He wondered if this was a beginning to the regaining of their friendship.

That was true of how they've done things like this in the past. The time when Aiden was slowly regaining his memory.

"It's fine..."

He honestly missed those days but he'd never voice that.

"I'm..." Glad? Happy? "It was good seeing you again, Eiri...uh Eirian." He corrected himself quickly.

A look of shock filled his features at the short and sweet peck. His body was frozen in place yet jerked back when he was pushed away.

"I uh..." He had no words. Just completely speechless from what just happened.

"You're fine." He finally said after a few silent seconds.

Aiden immediately melted at the touch, not used to the gentleness of it.

"I appreciate that. I really do."

It wasn't often that he received this kind of kindness. "I'll manage for now. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually."

"You tell me..." He commented, referring to the exhausted part.

"Eirian, I'm trying. I used to be so sure of my emotions before Hydra but now I don't know what to feel. I'm still getting the hang of things." He was just as frustrated.

A grimace formed but not for the reason that it would seem. He didn't know what he was feeling. On one hand, he missed what Eirian and himself had yet on the other hand, he was angry. He didn't know what to feel.

"I'd have to be honest with myself first but I don't even know what I'm feeling."

"Is that what you'd prefer?" It wasn't a snarky reply but more of a genuine question. He quirked a brow, his piercing eyes boring into Eirian's. Not in a bad way. Just out of curiosity and habit.

He immediately shook his head, "It was never my choice in the first place. If anything, I want to stop them." He answered, leaning into the touch slightly, almost as if he was afraid to do so.

The only thing Aiden was hoping and asking for was silence and peace as he walked in the streets of New York.

His gaze was forward as he intended to go to the closest café.

"It's fine. I understand." He really did even if he wasn't showing it in his expression.

His gaze shifted away as well but only for a brief moment before he made eye contact yet again. It was automatic. Something that was trained and burned into his brain.

"I guess that's my real specialty, huh?" He was only trying to ignore the annoying voice in his head that told him to talk to Eirian about their time in Hydra.

"That's what brainwashing does to you, Eiri." He replied with a slight eyeroll.

There was a pause.

"How have you been holding up?"

A sharp glare was sent in his direction for the snarky question. "Then your job must be annoying people cause you're sure as hell fantastic at it." He could be just as sassy as the other.

It wasn't his first time wandering the city but it was his first being mentally conscious while doing so considering his past.

His gaze was fogged as he walked ahead, mind full of empty thoughts and tricky words. A sigh passes his lips.

he struggled to trust him again. After all, he was displeased with him at the moment despite their past together.

"You could say that." He answered Eirian's question with a slight shrug.

"A different life...Sounds familiar." The last part was mumbled with something barely above a whisper. It was something that he could relate to. Wanting to be something different. Not whatever was left of the Hellhound.

Aiden's eyes watched Eirian carefully and cautiously. Almost like

Aiden's gaze never shifted away. In his years with Hydra, he's learned to keep eye contact with those he's speaking with.

The question stirred up some memories but he decided not to share them. "It doesn't matter what they did." It was a simple response but words that were full of venom.

He wasn't too fond of the other considering the involvement with Hydra and how they made him attempt to track and hunt down Eirian. Despite knowing that it wasn't his fault, he still felt distaste in the other.

"Didn't expect to see you here...or see you at all."

Upon hearing the voice, Aiden snapped out of his trance before his eyes landed on Eirian.

There wasn't much that he could remember during his 'Hellhound' days but what he could remember was how Hydra made him hunt the other down.

For a brief moment, Aiden was silent. Just simply contemplating
