This plan Oz is proposing is another anti-consumer, pro-billionaire move from this administration
Lived in Seoul, came back to visit my folks, got insurance before we left, appendix nearly burst, insurance provider said surgery wasn’t covered, “preexisting condition,”we pushed back, they kept denying, lawyer friend offered to represent us, provider laughed at the lawyer, refused coverage

We push back and then what? The insurance providers and hospitals ignore us? Great

I'm sorry if this message has been distressing. I know well that these are also days when people in America are fighting for their own freedoms. For that very reason, we believe this may be the most important time to read about Iran. Because all dictatorships resemble one another, and you would not want today's Iran to become tomorrow's America.
A follow up post from my friend in Iran
This is where we’re at. 30,000+ Iranians dead in 2 days and through the survivor’s guilt Iranians are still thinking of other people’s pain

An illustration of a potentially exhausted grandma wearing matching elbow and knee pads and a helmet, unnaturally ridging a skateboard. Caption: Grandma!
This is from another children’s book from the early 90s. I’m convinced the editor explained what a skateboard was to the artist and this is their rendition, a board with roller skate wheels.
Also, grandma can get it. It being the skateboard
Title of story: Where Is My Hat? A clown searches for his hat while a monkey behind him plays with said hat
A clown holds up a red shoe, confused. In the background, his monkey holds the clown’s hat to his butt, perhaps to take a shit in it. It is unclear, but by the look on the monkey’s face, the monkey is gleefully shitting. Caption: Here is a red shoe.
The clown holds up a blue sock, looking at it with some disappointment. Behind the clown, perched on a stool, the monkey holds the clown’s hat while looking at the reader with what could only be described as a “I shit in this hat” look. Caption: Here is a blue sock.
The clown holds up both ends of a green tie, looking at it with some disappointment. In the background, hanging from the curtain rack and holding the clown’s hat at crotch level, the monkey looks satisfied. As if trying to convey that the monkey recently made sweet, sweet love to the clown’s hat Caption: Here is a green tie.

07.02.2026 21:39 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Alberto Castañeda Mondragón says his memory was so jumbled after a beating by immigration officers that he initially could not remember he had a daughter and still struggles to recall treasured moments like the night he taught her to dance. But the violence he endured last month in Minnesota while being detained is seared into his battered brain. He remembers Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents pulling him from a friend’s car on Jan. 8 outside a St. Paul shopping center and throwing him to the ground, handcuffing him, then punching him and striking his head with a steel baton. He remembers being dragged into an SUV and taken to a detention facility, where he said he was beaten again. He also remembers the emergency room and the intense pain from eight skull fractures and five life-threatening brain hemorrhages.
ICE told nurses this Minneapolis man “purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall.”
What actually happened is that they pulled him from a car, beat him so viciously with a steel baton that he had 8 skull fractures, 5 life-threatening brain hemorrhages, and couldn’t remember he had a daughter.
Profoundly apologizing for failing to sign or trade for a top of the rotation starter and then working to supplement the current staff as best he can until the trade deadline where he makes the largest splash in baseball history for an ace to push them into the playoffs…

Why?
To my friends outside the country, Thank you for asking how I am. And I'm sorry for making you worry. To my friends inside Iran, If you've noticed my silence, it's because something in me died, and it took my voice with it. There are no words, no news, no language vast enough to carry the weight of the disaster and the atrocity we have lived through. My heart feels shattered into a thousand irreparable pieces. I move through my days like someone already dead. Breathing, but hollow. I am filled with guilt, with grief, with a rage so deep it has no name. Still, I will try to gather what remains of me and keep going. Hove you all. 💜
