Porcelain mushrooms at sunset, backlit from the light behind. There are about 5 visible mushrooms with distinctive gills. The mushrooms are actually white but look peachy-orange in the sunset light.

Pretty glad I headed back up to the woods for sunset...

These are porcelain mushrooms, and a moveable log, so was able to get a photo from underneath!

A view down an avenue of young wellingtonia trees (Sequoiadendron giganteum, or giant redwoods). At the top of the frame are some orange beech leaves from a tree above.

The forecast fog didn't materialise, but it's still nice to get out into the woods early in the morning :)

Up there with winter :)

A few tiny little mushrooms growing up a moss-covered tree stump. There is some autumn leave blur at the bottom.

A purple mushroom with a jagged top and pronounced gills. Taken from ground level with lots of autumn leaves around which are blurred.

A fly agaric mushroom (toadstool with a thick white stalk and round red top with white spots on it). Taken from ground level with autumnal leaves around and some holly visible to the side.

A few white mushrooms with thin stalks and almost translucent bodies. They are surrounded by moss.

And of course there were nice mushrooms, so here's a few more (can't get enough of the fly agaric 🍄).

Haha yes my trips are generally about 10 days and I’m usually glad to return to less “unsettled” weather. But the stormy days are fun to experience :)

You’d think that videos from a 2-year-old phone with a half-decent video would be uploadable on social media sites without me having to do anything. I google it and get a bunch of people giving code to put somewhere - arrggh!
