12.10.2025 19:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you! It was fortuitous timing with the sunset and movable log holding the fungi!
12.10.2025 19:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you Mairead :)
12.10.2025 18:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yup! Maybe they keep the ants and the spiders dry :)
12.10.2025 18:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks Lee-Anne :) They are pretty nice mushrooms!
12.10.2025 18:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you Deborah!

12.10.2025 18:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I couldn't get the camera low enough so was using the iphone, then realised that the log they were on moved :)
12.10.2025 18:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you! The sunset light onto the forest floor was intense :)
12.10.2025 18:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks Karen - it was so lovely!
12.10.2025 18:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Porcelain mushrooms at sunset, backlit from the light behind. There are about 5 visible mushrooms with distinctive gills. The mushrooms are actually white but look peachy-orange in the sunset light.
Pretty glad I headed back up to the woods for sunset...
These are porcelain mushrooms, and a moveable log, so was able to get a photo from underneath!

Thanks Donna! I photographed the same spot last week and the leaves were much more yellow. I guess red next weekend then :)
12.10.2025 18:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nice! I've travelled up there a bit (years ago) and there were lovely layers :)
12.10.2025 17:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm not sure whether I find that impressive or worrying ;)
12.10.2025 14:53 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I assume Iβve been on it but not sureβ¦

12.10.2025 13:48 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A view down an avenue of young wellingtonia trees (Sequoiadendron giganteum, or giant redwoods). At the top of the frame are some orange beech leaves from a tree above.
The forecast fog didn't materialise, but it's still nice to get out into the woods early in the morning :)

Thank you! I've seen quite a few of them now - the squat ones are the best :)

11.10.2025 21:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you Christine. It was quite understated but still lovely.

11.10.2025 20:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A few tiny little mushrooms growing up a moss-covered tree stump. There is some autumn leave blur at the bottom.
A purple mushroom with a jagged top and pronounced gills. Taken from ground level with lots of autumn leaves around which are blurred.
A fly agaric mushroom (toadstool with a thick white stalk and round red top with white spots on it). Taken from ground level with autumnal leaves around and some holly visible to the side.
A few white mushrooms with thin stalks and almost translucent bodies. They are surrounded by moss.
And of course there were nice mushrooms, so here's a few more (can't get enough of the fly agaric π).

A woodland photo with some low golden hour sunlight coming through the trees and lighting up some high leaves and the trunks below. There is a bit of a green/yellow glow at the bottom.
Back in Hockeridge Woods again today - it's so lovely at this time of year :)

Tasmania is just amazing isn't it :) We climbed up Cradle Mountain (obviously in fog, cleared when we got down). Such a beautiful island.

11.10.2025 12:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Haha yes my trips are generally about 10 days and Iβm usually glad to return to less βunsettledβ weather. But the stormy days are fun to experience :)
11.10.2025 10:13 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Youβd think that videos from a 2-year-old phone with a half-decent video would be uploadable on social media sites without me having to do anything. I google it and get a bunch of people giving code to put somewhere - arrggh!
