the queer beats in the story really elevates the experience and make evrything so amazing to me

I wanna tell you more about this visual novel, i really do, but i can't really do that without delving into spoilers, so please, read MAMIYA! It is the best thing that i have read this year and i want you to read it too!

That led to me feeling disappointed in a few parts... until I went back and reread them. With a little clarity (thank you reading literacy God (pic related)), I realized those were actually some of the strongest moments in the game.

I kept reading, hoping for a better ending—for the characters, for myself. Yeah, it’s kind of stupid to look for salvation in a visual novel, but it’s true. When I first read it, I couldn’t help but project my own hopes onto the story.

This visual novel is so dear to me, yet reading it was incredibly painful because I relate so much to what some of the characters go through (wink wink Keito wink wink Minato wink wink gay twink). But at the same time, I couldn’t stop.

This might be the most consistently well-written visual novel I’ve ever read. I never felt bored, not even once. Uh well maybe my hyperfixation kicked in at first (the gay tension were too HUGE), but the story really doesn’t let up, it’s straight fire from start to finish.

Speaking of the music, while it’s not on the level of other visual novels, it’s handpicked perfectly to fit each scene. I even ended up playing some of the tracks in my free time because they reminded me of key moments in the story.

Even so, MAMIYA somehow manages to create an incredible atmosphere with just stock-freeware music complemented with its beautifully drawn CGs and sprites, also absolutely godlike writing. Honestly? I didn’t even miss the voice acting or a custom soundtrack.

When you think of visual novels, you probably think of stellar voice acting (thank you Beatrice from Umineko) or epic soundtracks (thank you Takeshi Abo). But here? You get neither. What do you expect from something that was basically created by one person?
