If you ever want to see more of something you read but don't feel like you can do anything about it because you're not an influencer or a publisher or a journalist, even just leaving a five star review online moves the needle. Even telling a friend "you'd like this too"!
24.11.2025 18:04 โ ๐ 28 ๐ 12 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 2I want the industry to change, but ultimately publishing is a reactive industry. It IS reacting to adult manga, but the manga market and graphic novel market are two different book industries that have evolved in different ways, and manga readers don't often cross over of their own accord.
24.11.2025 18:04 โ ๐ 28 ๐ 8 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0For graphic novels, especially adult genre fiction, it's incredibly helpful to review it online, talk about it, recommend it to a friendโadult fiction in the graphic novel space is difficult to place, and nothing convinces readers that they'll like a book more than the personal testimonial.

when we interviewed some Webtoon creators at NYCC they all told us the scroll format is superior and they'd die on that hill and a lot of the page-format cartoonists I know would rather die than reformat their comics for scroll so for many people it is a versus scenario lol
