I didn't care much for the first two Avatars, but thought Fire and Ash was a big improvement, with Cameron seeming to have actually listened to people's issues and taken steps to fix them. Most of all, the Na'vi are no longer perfect little elves who are always right no matter what.

I had a really weird relationship with this show as a kid. Never one of my favorites but if it happened to be playing when I flicked to the Disney Channel there was enough for me to watch to the end.

I was sold upon seeing they fully realized everyone would be comparing it to Avatar, so they should just make the joke themselves like in 8 Mile.

Echo had a great mockery of this where Graham Greene is doing it as an act for idiot tourists, and his β€œancient chanting” is actually β€œBuy the darn thing, buy the darn thing.”

It's underrated how much Warren Beatty's Reds made this point way back in 1981.

I’ve seen speculation that the reason we’d never heard of Denobulans before Enterprise (or since, as far as I recall),is the Federation eventually decided their morality was too irreparably antithetical and kicked them out.

The really weird thing is Brannon Braga had fully acknowledged how much he'd screwed up how evolution works in Threshold, but then made the exact same mistake here to justify genocide.

My favorite book too. Especially appreciate how it digs into big moral questions without ever feeling like it’s trying to make you feel bad for wanting to see the conspirators get what they deserve.

There's a whole bunch of adaptations, most pretty good. Including a sci-fi anime with the most cracked-out animation style I've ever seen.
