That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next. Understand what it is to pray in Chicago.

Yes, Mr. President: You’re right. We do have “the worst health care” of any major country.

Despite spending twice as much per capita, we are the only major country not to guarantee health care to all as a human right.

First the USDA refused to use its contingency to fund SNAP.

Then they threatened grocery stores for giving discounts to SNAP recipients.

A court had to order the government to feed its citizens.

Trump filed an appeal to stay the order.

Now they’re telling States to claw SNAP back.

They also get rich using the infrastructure our tax dollars built and maintain. People aren’t prepared for a general strike, but they need to start getting ready for it.
