I had amazing opportunity to join training for young crane researchers.
So grateful to the organizers, trainers, and everyone who made it possible!
Proud to be part of this experience.

We surveyed habitats of the Demoiselle Crane in the European part of its breeding range. The results are alarming: numbers are declining. Suitable habitats still exist, but illegal hunting along migration routes likely drives this decrease.

Eurasian cranes in the breeding area are arriving earlier and leaving later due to climate change. Warmer springs mean earlier arrival, while autumn rains influence departure. This year, colleagues have already recorded cranes in Central Russia on March 11.
