As part of our IDL topic, we created boats and then sailed them down the river. The children were highly motivated and loved exploring ways in which to make their boats go faster. The team work, enjoyment and work towards a shared goal was so heartwarming to see!

It was a very IDL and car themed day, as part of our topic on Transport & Travel! Inspired by the children’s interests, this topic has already been highly motivating. We used the topic as our stimulus for writing, made model cars and car biscuits! All in one day! Such busy and engaged pupils!

Lots of hard working bodies in ES 1 as we successfully develop routines and engagement in a range of learning experiences. After a long summer break, we are revising some concepts and getting our fine and gross motor skills back in action!

PE was great fun, where everyone participated effectively and tried something new.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the sensory garden, exploring textures, smells and the different flowers which have grown over the summer!

It has been the greatest pleasure to welcome both our existing pupils and our new pupils back to Deanburn this week. We have already been very busy and we are so proud of the way in which everyone has settled and engaged in a range of activities. What a great start!

We were thrilled to spend time with K and K as they prepare for their next adventures at High School. We presented them each with a book of memories of their time at Deanburn 💕

This morning, we enjoyed some regulation time through drawing and creating characters. We altered these stick people to fit our own creations and ideas.

We have taken extra good care of our butterflies 🦋 and are so excited that they have now emerged and are building up their strength. We have been feeding them, ready for releasing them in our sensory garden on Thursday!

Such an enjoyable parachute session. Mrs Fraser joined us and we loved sharing our session with her! 👏
