We enjoyed a taste of woodwork this week, working with Mr Shave to have a go at sawing and sanding. We were delighted with our windmills, and enjoyed exploring how to catch the wind and watch them spin! #STEM #woodwork

We use ‘show me’ activities using mini dry wipe boards and number fans to increase engagement and thinking skills in Literacy and Numeracy lessons.

Primary 1 pupils enjoyed a shared reading session with their Primary 6 buddies this morning. Lots of lovely engagement in sharing stories together.

There was lots of excitement when we found all sorts of signs of Autumn on our walk. We used what we noticed and the wonderful book ‘The Lost Words’ by Robert McFarlane and Jackie Morris to help us and inspire us when we wrote about what we found.

We made the most of a break in the showers this week to get out and enjoy the daily mile.

Super work in Numeracy from our P2 pupils using tens frames to visualise a strategy for solving addition by making ten.

A spot of outdoor Maths today during @mathsweek.scot thinking about amounts and how they are made up. Pupils used natural materials to make numbers on tens frames and look for pairs that make 5. #Numbertalks #outdootlearning

Pupils enjoyed a session of enacting each other’s stories this afternoon. We had stories about monsters and magic beans, the biggest train in the world and a game of football at Dougie park. #HelicopterStories #storytelling

Super reading from our primary 2 pupils this week, rearranging sentences linked to their reading books.

Lots of creativity and excitement was unleashed this week as pupils discovered their mini mes. Pupils included them in all sorts of imaginative play, building houses for their mini mes out of blocks and sending them on voyages. #BeingMe #roleplay#imagination

Lots of super work in Literacy this week from P1 and P2 pupils, learning and revising letter sounds.

We enjoyed meeting our school gerbils, Snowy and Moon, this week thanks to a handling session with Mrs Brown. We got a chance to stroke or hold them and learned about how to look after them. Snowy and Moon were a hit!

We enjoyed a visit to the library today. We chose a book to share at home. Our library day will be on a Thursday so remember to return books each week so a new one can be chosen. 📚

Pupils were delighted to see that our caterpillars emerged from the chrysalis this week! We have been amazed to observe this amazing transformation and learn through awe and wonder at the natural world. #lifecycles #livingthings

A huge thank you to Mr Shave who has worked tirelessly with our class this year, offering pupils such a wonderful opportunity to experience woodwork, working with different tools and materials, trying out different techniques and making some wonderful creations to take home.

We had a very successful
paired writing session with our friends in P5 @missmiller-dps.bsky.social. Each group created a page to go into a book about animals, based on our trip to the zoo. #pairedwriting #pupilsleadinglearning

We enjoyed a ride, skate or scoot session this morning. The rest of us enjoyed an extra time on the trim track. What a great day for it! #HealthWeek
