I showed the picture to our guide on Borneo today and he called it a Malaysian Mangrove Viper aka Mangrove pit viper.

Malayan Pit Viper we think. Guide said it was female.

When we tell people in Malaysia we are from Alaska, most have no idea where that is. Thought that was weird til I realized that when we tell people in US that we are going to Malaysia, most have no idea where that is.
