One of the significant issues with mail in votes is many states prohibiting opening them until election day, so they can't even start counting the ones that arrive in the days/weeks before election day. Obviously these take longer, so *of course* it is going to delay results

They know that the more densely populated areas take much, much longer to count, as do mail in ballots. They also know that those two things also tend to lean Democratic, which is why they want to eliminate or restrict them as much as possible.

It would save us a ton of money and time if the first vote decided the election. Whoever gets in line first decides!

Oh for sure. In normal times this is easily dismissed by any court and requires a constitutional amendment. This SCOTUS will just do whatever the hell they want though. It will probably be laughed out of court at every level until it makes it to SCOTUS and they'll overturn it.
