There were some economic boycotts, but it was the concept of resisting without being violent— never attacking, never being the aggressor, but also never complying— that was the foundation of their approach. That’s also the strategy that was adopted successfully by others later on.

MLK, Mandela, and others looked to Gandhi’s non-violent resistance to develop their own strategies.

That same judge then blocked Trump from deploying California's National Guard to Portland instead.

This isn't a "left wing" judge — Trump appointed her.
