St. Louis COVID-cautious folk: I got the Moderna mNexspike COVID vaccination today at the CVS in the Target at 900 S. Grand. I am over 65 and had an appointment but I asked for my son and the pharmacist said they would give the shot to anyone who asked for it. Check their limited hours.

I was talking to a friend about the midwest and suddenly put together a reason for the progressive/democratic traditions that have surprised me in St. Louis (eg. the zoo is free, the art museum is free). He said: "after 1848 we got the good Germans."

I'm not a believer in monetizing hobbies, but I thought this was interesting because I never thought in terms of having multiple hobbies for balance

Andrea Was Waiting To Give You This Poem β€œWhen Death Came to Visit”

"Andrea has said many times, 'I write so much about my diagnosis not to remind you that I am mortal, but to remind you that YOU are mortal.'

My hope is that this poem doesn’t make you sad or worried, but invites youβ€”like Andrea invites usβ€”to 'raise what will end you, with love.'"
