Rather than terraforming a whole desert from the top-down, start from a single spring to build an oasis, then a village, then a city, then connect with others, then fill in the gaps from there.
It's fully everyday people, no celebrities, so no one knows each other. It's a completely different show, and is honestly better for it. We still watch the US version, but the UK version is what we get excited about.
