Finally, those differences we DO have, those moments of misunderstanding are so easily talked through.

We as queer people need to talk to each other, across the generations. Let's stop allowing cis het incendiary media divide us and exploit our differences, and talk for us.

There is a difference in language between generations. There are differences in how gender and sexuality were framed 40 years ago, even how it was experienced. But queer folk of all ages have a shared history that is deep and unshakable.

It's presented as 'look at these poor old gay dears who have had their nice bars taken over by crazy blue haired kids'... and it's patronising rubbish, whipped up by non-queer agitators, that is intentionally causing generational mistrust within our own community.

Something I'd like to address. There's this idea that TQ+ folk are all 21 year-old art students... and all the 'normal' old school folk are LGB and entirely left behind and confused by 'pronouns'...

Every talk I give, know who the most outspoken trans allies are? Queer folk in their 70s!!
