06.10.2025 18:30 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0The Haven is more than just a school, itβs a carefully crafted environment where.
Learning is tailored - Education is adapted to meet individual needs and preferences. Strengths are nurtured - Talents and abilities are identified and fostered. Community is built - Learners connect with peers who understand and support them. Wellbeing is prioritised - Emotional and mental health are valued alongside academic success. Individuality is celebrated - Learners are encouraged to be their authentic selves.
So much more than online learning, The Haven is a space where learning adapts, strengths shine, and every young person belongs. Read more about our approach on our blog - https://bit.ly/HavenApproach

06.10.2025 12:25 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Well done! Really interesting write up too. The AP sector doesn't get nearly enough attention that it warrants, given the huge role the sector plays both in terms of reducing school distress/capacity to engage in education, and improving the mental health and wellbeing of so many young people.

But SEND gaps have widened further. While absence fell among pupils on SEN support, it fell by more among those with no identified SEN, causing the SEN support gap to widen. Meanwhile absence continued to rise among those with EHCPs (from 8.4 days to 8.7 days in autumn 2024/25) causing this gap to widen even more. And as ever with SEND data, it is worth remembering that these are the children who have received a diagnosis; there are many others with unidentified needs
EPI analysis of absence figures shows SEND gaps have widened further. It calls for prioritised training in child development and different types of SEND as a mandatory part of initial teacher training and early career development. epi.org.uk/publications-and-...
