No... it was cancelled on Monday, but because I had a room booked and Wedding Present in Lyme Regis on Thursday as part of a meticulously planned road trip, I decided to just go anyway. Had a great night at some Penryn comedy instead. Today, on to Bristol for more Wedding Present.

If you end up, as a 51-year-old, at a comedy gig in a student union, on your own, you are what might charitably be called an 'outlier'.

I have put my youngest son in charge of my funeral playlist, and regularly send him new additions. Genius parenting or deeply traumatising? Jury's out.

I went for Manchester on the basis of travel and possible dog care options, but I was indeed sad to miss out on Mogwai. Maybe they'll do a Minor Victories number too...
