The FFXIV community has a problem with racism/orientalism and try to hide behind "it's just fiction" while actively roleplaying a fascist or a walking racial stereotype. People refuse to believe fiction reflects reality.

Cerix’s dialect is very modern, present-day speech. 30 years in Solution Nine will do that to you. Beforehand, they spoke with a sort of early 1900s dialect.

If I wanted to make story gposes involving the Scions, would it be too much to remake their designs? Their current ones feel very… homogenized to me and considering how diverse XIV’s world is supposed to be, I’d like to pull some ideas to make new designs for them.

Won’t go into too much detail, but it along with a few other factors did affect the way I see myself and the what I do to cope with those feelings.

Cerix also explores themes of neglectful parenting, though that specifically needs a lot more time to stew before I can fully commit to writing that.

Cerix is supposed to be, in my eyes, the idea of accepting what makes you, even if a lot of those things aren’t what you are looking for. Cerix being this neutral evil character is supposed to be a reflection of how I see myself. A little personal, but I was diagnosed with autism at an early age.

Like the Ascians being named after the Scions of Light, the presence of auracite in ARR, waaaay before the Ivalice raids touched on it, Venat basically following the same story beats as her Occuria counterpart in XII… There’s probably more connections, but I don’t know all of them.

I usually raid, though, so it’s a little different but I usually don’t mind vibing. My work schedule doesn’t really allow it to go past like 9 at night though, so, it’s just one of those take what you can get kind of things.

The only real big break I get is work and I also work in education, which is honestly a real good reality check considering the kids I have to work with. To be honest, I find myself distancing myself from XIV more and more, trying to minimize the time I have on it.
