-- extremely disappointing 4th quarter GDP number
-- inflation report hotter than expected
-- Supreme Court strikes down tariffs
A pictures of an Atari 130XE computer displaying the opening of Zork I on a Commodore 1702 monitor. A floppy disk with Zork II on the label is on the computer and game cartridges are also visible.
I still have a couple of functional ones, although donated a lot of stuff recently to the National Videogame Museum in Texas.
20.02.2026 06:22 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I guess my main focus in the mid-80s was Atari Computers, so I still have nostalgia for that and running the Magrathea BBS which is what got me in touch with con-going fans.
20.02.2026 04:03 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I was already in my 20s then, so it was mainly MTV that I fixated on from that decade, growing out of my love for music from my teens. I didn't really go all in with SF/F fandom until later in the 80s when I discovered conventions. So 80s teen films is not really a nostalgic thing for me.

18.02.2026 19:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just finished watching Marvel's Wonder Man. Acting is superb and the story rocks. Definitely would like to see more of it.

16.02.2026 22:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This week, I'm going to get way out of my comfort zone and promote the hell out of my podcast. I'm so proud of the work we are doing, and I want as many people as possible to know it exists.
So I'll begin here:

using "one honest review at a time" as his tagline as well....

Pictures from an early digital camera of "Weird Al" Yankovic and his wife Suzanne at San Diego Comic Con in 2001. Picture on the left is Al talking to a fan with Suzanne looking on. Picture on the right is Al and Suzanne walking with them holding hands. Picture taken by me from a fan table I manned that year.
Weird Al Posted in Instagram a couple of days ago on his 25th Wedding anniversary with his wife Suzanne. Later that year, I saw them wandering the aisles at San Diego Comicon on their way to Artists Alley where they visited Frank Kelly Freas. Happy Anniversay Al and Suzanne!

12.02.2026 03:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For me, it was
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Earth Girls are Easy (on a very small screen, but still in a theater)
Casino Royale (the Peter Sellers one)
U.H.F.
MST3k: The Movie (special preview screening with Dr. Forrester)
House of Dark Shadows/Night of Dark Shadows double feature.
Rocky Horror.
The book club scam has taken an exciting new leap forward. I got one today from a "curated literary platform and newsletter" that, unusually, offered a link to its website. I'm in edits, so obviously I took the opportunity to procrastinate. /1

And they joked about it. There are letters in the Chicon III files where the chair and Asimov jokingly discuss doing a panel about pinching posteriors. Also, a letter where Heinlein says he will come, but only if he knows he is getting the Hugo.
07.02.2026 07:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't have a video to share, but Tribble Toys when at a convention will have a cage of dozens of activated Tribbles and Clapping near them will activate all of them.
