EU parliament votes to ban meat names for plant-based foods Pressure to ban meat labels for plant-based products comes from Europe's livestock farmers.

Banning the name 'veggie sausage' is, frankly, ridiculous. Grow up @europarl.europa.eu

As for the current situation, Starmer is Bidening hard. He's banked everything on 'delivery' and spending almost zero time actually telling the country what they're doing or hyping up any achievements. Fingers crossed that situation is finally changing

Brexit was a massive curveball. The Conservatives managed to squeeze out a whole decade in power by milking it for every last drop (remember we can go 5 years between elections, which is way too long). Without the divisions that caused they could have been voted out as early as 2015

If you've not seen it, 'Jane' on Disney is a great insight into what it was like for Jane Goodall struggling to be taken seriously in the 60s

Narrative should be proactive, for example 'levelling up' was pure narrative. What we're experiencing is entirely reactive, it's fire fighting.

Definitely better than expected. The gallows humour around the death of journalism is maybe... cathartic?

That's totally true, but maybe it's better if the right don't see it that way? Less polarising and maybe more palatable...?

Proper commentary is hard. There are loads of fan commentary streams that are universally terrible. Even individual club commentators are pretty poor, in my experience. Let's not dilute one part of the media ecosystem where we've still got people who are good at their jobs

A moment to celebrate green rooftops ๐ŸŒฟ

It's only when you see inspiring buildings that are really embracing the opportunities available to green up their roofs, that you realise how bleak, grey and dead most cities look from above.

How can we make 21st century human society compatible with the unpredictable, complicated, delicate planet that we live on? This is my primary concern. And given that the majority of people now live in urban areas (and rising) then cities seemed the best place to start...
