Is Information a Fundamental Force of Physics?
YouTube video by Quanta Magazine Is Information a Fundamental Force of Physics?

These reminders are from this very beautiful video from @quantamagazine.bsky.social. I am still optimistic about my thoughts though.

I believed that as there are different ways to express the same thing. We might have ended up describing the molecular systems in the most complicated form that is hard to solve. And there might be a different easier form to solve the same thing. Or maybe not.

My thought was that just like when a small plant sucks water from soil or intakes carbondioxide from atmosphere to convert into sugar and oxygen, the processes are so fast that information should or must fly extremely fast as well. Hence the underlying equations must be simpler too.

I had a thought when I was in my bachelors and I just learned that in Quantum Chemistry it is computationally intractable to solve the Schrödinger equation for more than 1 electron in a system. I understood but I was not convinced.

It's true that open source is made up of community members coming together to make software solutions in a collaborative and open way.

It is also true that open source is defined by a bunch of licenses.

The licenses may not be the fun part, but being organized about what parts of your project […]

The main headline reads: “Trans fats can kill.” Below, it states: “Trans fats can be found in many margarines, vegetable shortenings, fried & baked foods.” The image includes drawings of a red carton of French fries and a tub of margarine with a knife. At the bottom, the graphic notes: “Every 2% increase in energy intake from trans fats increases risk of dying by 14% and heart disease by 25%.”
