Students begin Covid compensation claim against 36 more universities It comes after University College London settled a claim from students there over lost learning in the pandemic.

This is emblematic of the consumer culture that fees have engendered.

What the hell did the students expect? It was a ONCE IN A CENTURY PANDEMIC. There were LAWS against congregating in public. Staff worked themselves to the bone to get online delivery working.

Michael Wood ยท Spellbound Gloaming: Bachelardโ€™s Dreamwork Gaston Bachelard is inviting us to go beyond what we think we know. That is, how to counter boring intuitions with...

โ€˜There were too many times, Gaston Bachelard says, when thinking he was thinking (โ€œcroyant penserโ€), he was dreaming. Is that so bad? Hadnโ€™t he spent much of his life, if not dreaming, then defending the power of dreams?โ€™

Starbank

We follow the sun
into the corner
of the garden.

When the shadow
comes we know (with-
out knowing) to

slowly walk โ€™til
we find it (or
were we letting

it find us), again?
Finding (without
looking), and looking

(without finding), may-
be a beautiful way
of living (of loving).

It was from a series called The Writer, The Work, hosted by the PEN American Center, New York.
