This hour the Time Gods have given us is merely a debt, to be repaid one awful March morning next year.
I don’t think I could deal with more of that delayed pain, no matter how good this feels now. Would be like taking smack and never expecting a comedown.

As an Arsenal fan who hates PGMOL, I am absolutely delighted to say Arsenal’s penalty just now was insanely wrong.
It happened so far outside the box that there is no legit explanation for it at all.
PGMOL and the entire referee class in England needs to go.
Incompetent, corrupt or both.

Someone I thought was roughly my age came up to me smiling the other day.
Turns out he’s now a granddad.
I’m not worried about him per se, but yeah, the parents are now quite young. The grandparents might be your age. And the real danger is the people who might soon have great-grandchildren.

After I quit Twitter, I’ve been very “not terminally online”.
That photo just clarified half a dozen jokes people have been making at me since I started wearing that shirt.
Thank you.

Wow, you’ve lost half a Paul in retirement - looking great!
I also have this kit to be fair - I’d wear this one on date night or to work. It’s too classy for the Emirates.

I’ll come Home in September I reckon. Buy the new kit - I have a feeling it might become like one of our O2 or Sega kits if we can find some luck.

Mate, can you spit on your hands, turn 720 degrees where you stand and pray to your Gods in earnest please?
I’m not having anyone curse this season before it’s even begun.

Dunno man. That lovely team has derailed Arsenal in each and every one of the last three attempts.
The 2-2 in 23 after Saka’s pen was soul destroying.
The home defeat over Christmas in season after was part of the collapse we couldn’t come back from even with 18 wins.
Last year killed us off.

The new era of tech seems to be built on superstitious behaviour
I was at a dinner recently where a bunch of people were talking about how AI was “literally predicting the future and knew everything about their pasts”.
I had to bite my lip but desperately wanted to scream, “IT’S FORTUNE TELLING!”
Turns out that’s what it is.

I’ve been reflecting on this overnight and I truly believe the next time the Tories are in power and try to remove the license fee, we show them this and just say, “Quod erat demonstrandum” before walking away in barely constrained hysterics.

This reminds me of that CBS story of what an Egyptian mummy would have sounded like and it collapsed the internet with how ridiculous it was (even before it got memed).
Tattoo had better be “Gyok 14” or I don’t believe.

First off, I think he’s wrong. Second, he’s one of life’s contrarians. Third and most importantly, running cover for dangerous ideologies through “innocent” criticism is one of the big curses of modernity and this is clearly one of those instances.

You know what else is “unpleasant”?
Forest fires, hurricanes and mass starvation caused by climate shifts.

It’s going to be wild discovering in a couple of decades what the scientists came up with this time.
Although we need to be patient given we’re still waiting for the testers to catch up with whatever they were doing in 2012-7.

I feel like the more accurate analogy would be Royal Mail opening your parcel and claiming the contents inside as its own just because I used their service.
Now perhaps Royal Mail could do that if for some reason they lent me a million quid to buy the parcel and then I didn’t pay them back…

Yes, I do realise the real losers here are the workers themselves but it is remarkable how short-sighted legislation like this is in terms of the desired outcome.
Tourism is about hospitality and that requires happy people.
Knackered workers who hate their job will destroy tourism.

If that last statement is true, it would be very Francis Fukuyama-esque.
This kind of 180 degree turn that gives everyone whiplash almost never works out how it’s intended, particularly in a country like Turkey.

A generation of young Turks who repeatedly voted for HDP to get them past the electoral threshold are currently realizing their parents were right all along about the nature of Turkish politics.
