As scholars of genocide, we demand an end to Israel’s atrocities | Open letter Within weeks, 400 colleagues joined our organization. We say: it is not too late to save lives. End the genocide now

‘demand and enforce a permanent ceasefire, an arms embargo, the immediate withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip, unimpeded distribution of humanitarian aid, and equality and self-determination for all Palestinians.’

Gaza sulter.
Over 2 mio. er fordrevet og presset sammen på 12 % af Gaza. Mad og medicin blokeres.
875 er dræbt i forsøg på at få mad.
Nu må nødhjælpsarbejdere selv stå i kø.

Danish 'Ghetto policy' in UK? (2/2)

Was on GBN, as Tories leader consider 'controversial Danish ghetto policy'. Explained about the policy. Outlined what don't work:

The ghetto list - We don't solve social housing problems by demolition, discrimination and displacement.

The list is a barrier

I saw a meme with Stephen King
Urging us to read more scary book
But seriously
These days King is to our time
What Carl Barks was to Duckville
The analogy is not King But Faulkner
Men of a incestoid culture of decay
Having taken the scene
Raging around in sound and fury
Cruelty and bitterness

4) A key part of this is the Fragmentation of the state, cities and social collectives. Counter intuitively these fragmentations do not mean less state as governing fragmented societies requires massive resources new institutions and forms legitimization. Something we need to research empirically.

3) - not toward a neoliberal doing away with the state (even when some harbor these wishes) - but toward a radical reorganization of the state to turn state power against those parts of the state which (re)produce and underpin public goods, care and solidarity. What we term #policy_schizophrenia.

2) We contest that this righttilting should be the result of the weaponization of language and the spread of fake news etc. (these are important factor but not driving dynamics). Rather we must comprehend the resent political developments as part of (long-term) struggles over the state

1) We used the opportunity to expand our and model of 'the state as nested fields' which can helps us generate empirical research on the ongoing right tilting of political space across major democracies around the globe from Denmark, Italy and Portugal to the US, Brazil and India.

R is much like SAS but of course much more powerfull. Problem is those whom have invested insanely in becomming proficient have little incentive to produce easy to use (point and click) front-ends (and thereby potentially devaluating thier investment in learning R).

I remember begenning in SAS which was a real bastard to learn. In comparison SPSS was just easy, smooth and sweet even if one early on learned of its many flaws not just in MCA and data management. But now if looks and feels like a GDR Trabant.
